LURIE, TED
LURIE, TED (1909–1974), Israel journalist. Born in New York, Lurie immigrated to Palestine in 1930 and joined the staff of the Palestine Post at its outset in 1931. He was news editor from 1937 to 1947 and was Jerusalem correspondent of the London News Chronicle (1944–46). From 1948 to 1950 he was acting editor of the Palestine Post (later the Jerusalem Post) and in 1955 was appointed editor and managing director.
